David Moore’s publisher sent me a copy of his book and I so enjoyed reading his travel memoir. The book details his and his wife’s travels around various portions of the world. They traveled between South America, the Pacific Islands, and Asia.
I was hooked early on, especially when he described their visit to Easter Island. I have been obsessed with Easter Island and the Maoi ever since watching a documentary about how the Maoi were walked to their resting place. It was interesting to read that David visited their resting site with the individual who figured out how the Maoi walked.
The book continues on describing the brightly covered houses in Ecuador, as well as the Amazon rainforest; their exploration of the Galápagos Islands, and observation of the marine/land animals; and exploring Machu Picchu and the Amazon Jungle in Peru. The book then describes their travels cruising around Fiji, complete with snorkeling; exploring Great Barrier Reef, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, and Melbourne in Australia; and eating great food in Kuala Lumpur. The book concludes David’s memoir with re-living their adventure riding elephants in Thailand; visiting the temples in Cambodia; walking the Great Wall of China; and visiting a monastery and Mount Fuji in Japan.
This book, complete with snapshot photos, was more of a memoir about David’s travels but can provide excellent travel ideas for those looking for travel location inspiration.
